Background In the UK , AXA occupies market leading positions in three of its main markets - life assurance, health insurance and general insurance. We are part of a Global Group employing over 200,000 people around the world and with 2009 revenues exceeding 90m Euros. We are currently looking for an experienced Corporate Communications Manager to cover a secondment for 12 months within the External Communications team in AXA's UK Head Office. The role There are two key elements to the role: 1 - Media Relations 2 - Project Management To support the corporate reputation communications strategy you will manage announcements and releases around a diverse range of topics from key financial statements to CEO business briefings including creating copy relevant to the business sector. This will of course entail managing stakeholder expectations both internally and externally to produce communication that defines AXA's point of view and aligns with our strategic goals. Specifics around this will include: - Manage the corporate media relations programme
- Manage the financial calendar announcements in the UK
- Manaign the output from AXA's reputational evaluation tool
- Managing AXA's reputation including relevant policies and processes
- Issue management working with the Business to define a Corporate position and respond to media enquiries
Within the broader team and business you will be involved in project management including managing agency involvement in specific projects. Skills, knowledge and behaviour We are looking for a first-class Media Relations specialist with a financial service sector - ideally, this experience will include the insurance sector due to the need for the individual to very quickly take on the mantle of communications expert within this sector. Candidates without financial services experience will find it more difficult to add value to the AXA external relations piece in the initial period. In the detail of the role you will need to demonstrate success in managing key stakeholder relationships to Board level and display the gravitas and commercial awareness to drive benefit from these relationships to ensure the correct message is delivered.
