GTS Executive Decision Support - Team / Role Summary The GTS Executive Decision Support (EDS) team are collectively responsible for the delivery of strategic and value added financial analysis to assist with the understanding of the business results and decision making by the CEO, CFO and Finance Heads of this high profile division which attracts much market and analyst interest, and is a core profitable business for the RBS Group- This puts the EDS team in the unique and privileged position of having overall oversight and ownership of the global business financials and benefits from close working relationships with the regional and product Finance Heads throughout the world- Broadly, EDS are responsible for the procurement, development and provision of financial management information ('MI') and the preparation and ongoing review of budgets, forecasts, targets, investment propositions, and ad hoc analysis- The GTS Executive Decision Support team also acts as the key interface between the various regional Finance departments and RBS Group Reporting in respect of the understanding of financial performance and forecasts- Requirements Technical Knowledge/ Professional Experience · Sound business acumen and economic awareness · Excellent communication skills - ability to covey complex information in simple terms to meet the different needs of various audiences · Ability to understand a multi-product, multi-region business and the multitude of economic factors which impact the business · Strong analytical skills, including the ability to understand inter-relationships and interpret trends on financial data, built on a sound understanding on how a banking business operates (essential); · History of successful working relationships with senior business executives; and · Strong Excel, Word and Power point skills, including excel modelling-
Education/ Qualifications - ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified accountant with strong accounting skills and Financial Services exerience
Supplementary Experience · Experience in GTS products is advantageous and financial services experience is essential; · Knowledge of Genral Ledger and MI systems e-g- Walker / SGL (GL), Khalix (MI tool), GDS (Front end derivative trading system) · Experience in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting of revenue, costs, balance sheet, headcount, and RWAs; Responsibilities This role specifically involves:- - Development of strong working relationships with the GTS Finance Heads, product and regional decision support teams, Customer MI and the wider Finance community to provide a complete
- Finance service to the GTS executives;
- Produce and continually evolve (i-e- improve with changing needs) financial management information on the trading results of the business with commentaries and variance analysis
- Analyse financial information and with business and economic awareness provide value added financial and strategic analysis
- Provide support for the development of prospective information including budgets, forecasts, and targets including divisional shape setting, and management of the divisional process;
- Act as the key interface between the division and Group Finance in respect of divisional performance and outlook;
- Preparation of Divisional market disclosures and detailed financial briefings for Divisional CEO and Group Executives;
- Ongoing investigation and resolution of financial issues in conjunction with the Financial Control teams
