A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a UK focused senior banker to join Coutts & Co as a Client Partner leading a team of Private Bankers, alongside managing a small portfolio of significant clients, based in our South Eastern regional offices- We are seeking an experienced banker, with a successful and demonstrable track record, to join a highly motivated team- Working out of the Reading and Eton offices, this position will appeal to candidates with a passion for unsurpassed client service and a good network of contacts-
Role Purpose - Accountability for delivery of team revenue and volume sales target
- Sales management of a team of Private Bankers
- Provide mentoring / coaching support to Private Bankers within Team
- Build profitable wealth management relationships with a portfolio of complex and high value clients
- Maximise income from the Team's portfolios by understanding clients' requirements and increasing the penetration of products to the client base
- Create team ethos of maintaining high standards of client service
- Responsible for maximising team's client satisfaction scores
- Integral part of the Managing Partner's management team
Key Accountabilities - Manage and motivate a team of between 3 & 7 Private Bankers to achieve team revenue and volume sales targets-
- Build and implement marketing and business development strategy in conjunction with Managing Partner
- Develop a pro-active sales management culture and embed it within the team-
- Increase the penetration of wealth management products within the existing and new client base of the cell
- Contribute to profit, sales and product targets of the Client Group by selling appropriate wealth management services to the portfolio of clients
- Coach the team members to develop sales skills to increase market penetration and increase number of sales made by team members
- Become the trusted advisor to top clients, providing guidance across the full range of wealth management products, and a consistent, credible and accessible point of contact for clients
- Expand the size and quality of team client base and lead client allocation within the team
- Developing new & existing relationships with Business Introducers , to increase penetration of wealth management market
- Provide specialist product knowledge to other team members when required
- Responsible for the team events strategy and leading team client events
- Work with the Business Partner to promote team risk culture & achieve team risk targets
- Conduct appraisals for fully authorised Private Bankers (PB's)
- Contribute to team bonus distribution decisions with Managing Partner and Business Partner
- Manage initial performance issues, escalating long term/complex issues to the Business Partner-
- Work with Business Partner to recruit new PB's and Private Bankers Assistant (PBA's) for the team
- Maintain high level of segment/industry knowledge and willingly share this knowledge with team members and Executive Director
- Undertake appropriate ongoing professional development
- Overview the team cover plan to ensure client service is maintained
- Manage own PBA and ensure all teams PBA's & Team Assistant (TA's) are well managed
- Maintain and enhance RBS group contacts and ensure the continued flow of introductions into appropriate Bankers within the cell
- To act in accordance with the regulatory requirements and standards under the Financial Services Authority (FSA)
- To be fully aware of the obligations and responsibilities placed on individuals who are registered under the FSA's Approved Person regime, in respect of their role and conduct

For those without relevant professional qualifications, the following are Coutts preferred qualifications from the list of FSSC appropriate exams: - SII Certification (Securuties & Financial Derivatives for Retail clients )
- CeMap or Certificate in Mortgage Advice
For those with existing professional qualifications, theses should be in accordance with the FSSC list appropriate to the role (see Coutts UK T&C website) Other Technical Skills, Knowledge or Experience: - Achieved outstanding and demonstrable success over prolonged period at senior manager / partner level in a legal, accountancy, financial advisory, investment or private banking environment-
- Strong knowledge of tax, banking, investment, or financial planning is essential
- Sales / business development experience essential
- Track record of successful revenue generation, selling and closing deals
