Background AXA Commercial has been established as a business with it's own P&L accountability, formed after the separation of AXA Insurance's Commercial and Personal Lines businesses. You will investigate EL, PL & Motor Personal Injury Claims primarily on behalf of AXA Commercial, but also on a fee per case for AXA Corporate Solutions. This is a critical role where AXA meet their customers on a face to face basis, forming an integral part of our 'reason to buy' Claims Service for Commercial Lines. As a Claims Inspector you will represent AXA in face-to-face dealings with our policyholders and brokers in the North West. You will provide technically accurate and helpful advice and create a positive image of the Company. Residing in the North West, you will work location independently with limited operational support. You will rely on your own initiative and sound general knowledge of commercial liability claims handling. This demands a high level of self-discipline and time management ability. A business use car is provided as part of the reward package. The role - You will demonstrate a pragmatic and cost effective approach to claims investigation by telephone or site visit to achieve quality decisions and gather appropriate evidence in line with disclosure rules.
- Manage your own diary and portfolio of work in the most cost effective manner.
- Report decisions to Case Management Teams in appropriate format with an estimate recommendation in line with Company best practice & COM.
- Provide a high level of quality risk improvement advice to underwriters.
- Continuously identify improvements to the claims process and bring these to the attention of the Regional Claims Investigation Manager.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour - Ideally holding, or have made progress towards, a CII professional qualification.
- Sound knowledge of the claims process, reserving and assessment methods.
- Aware of the broker/affinity environment and the importance of such relationships.
- Sound knowledge of legal processes and recent experience of investigation and negotiation.
- A strongly proactive approach to claims investigation and negotiation and a commitment to customer service.
- Claims/Underwriting background within the industry.
