Description UBS Global Asset Management is shortly unveiling it's first private equity fund to focus on the Middle East. This initiative is part of the drive to diversify the UBS Global Asset Management business and respond to investor sentiment, which in current markets, is moving towards ‘harder' assets, such as infrastructure, property and private equity. As part of this launch, the Infrastructure and Private Equity business require a Chief Investment Officer, based in London. I&PE has 25 headcount in London, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney.
The Chief Investment Officer of Private Equity will play a lead role in overseeing UBS Global Asset Management's joint ventures in a number of regional private equity JVs, the first announced being a Middle East focused private equity business. The CIO will represent UBS on the fund's Investment Committee, will be involved in marketing the fund to global investors and in setting up and monitoring governance arrangements for UBS's private equity operations. The role will report to the Head of I&PE. The CIO will also become involved in helping to generate deal flow and in the transaction due diligence and execution process. The individual will deliver a business plan for each new fund and structure the plan for new funds. The investments will often have to be creative and the role would suit an individual with a flexible outlook who possess excellent problem solving skills and influencing ability.
