Job Description The Asset Protection Scheme is a key part of the governments measures to restore stability and confidence in the Banking sector- It's aim is to protect the bank against future losses on some of our riskiest assets & to contain future losses, whilst helping boost our capital ratios & increase our commercial lending capacity- The management of the assets, and their on-going cover within the scheme, will be subject to a set of complex & detailed HMT rules, including regular reporting on scheme assets- The need for highly competent staff, to ensure that CBD reporting on the scheme to CBD Executive, Group and HMT; including the quality of the data reported is to the highest levels, will be critical in maintaining the integrity of CBD reporting and the overall success of the scheme- The reporting function is accountable for all the Corporate Banking Division reporting requirements for the Asset Protection Scheme on an ongoing basis including:
The accuracy and integrity of the reports prepared as part of the Asset Protection Scheme
Working with the Head of Operations/Head of Compliance in the effective management of the CBD APS Scheme
Developing robust procedures and processes to maximise the effectiveness of the team
Drive the strategic initiatives to develop, enhance and streamline the reporting process
Responsibilities Deliverables:
Work with Risk and Finance resources to locate and manipulate data which will be used for regular and bespoke reports prescribed under the APS programme
Support activities to ensure reports are signed off in a timely manner and in with control frameworks
Accuracy in data management ensuring outputs can be relied upon in compiling reports about underlying changes in exposures and risks-
Identify and implement improvements to the interim reporting processes (including data sourcing, supporting architecture and resourcing required to support the amended processes)-
The Individual Experience:
Good working knowledge of Corporate Banking Divisions and its business/systems - Beneficial
Knowledge of the Asset Protection Scheme and the APS Scheme rules - Beneficial
Risk and credit experience - Beneficial
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships - Essential
Experience of working across functional areas - Essential Experience of credit/financial systems and process - Essential
