Job Description The Asset Protection Scheme is a key part of the government's measures to restore stability and confidence in the Banking sector- Its aim is to protect the bank against future losses on some of our riskiest assets & to contain future losses, whilst helping boost our capital ratios & increase our commercial lending capacity- The management of the assets, and their on-going cover within the scheme, will be subject to a set of complex & detailed HMT rules- As such, the need for highly competent and effective senior members of staff, to ensure the bank maximise value from the scheme, whilst maintaining on-going commercial and regulatory obligations, will be key to the overall success of the scheme and our participation- The key purpose of the role is to provide support to the CBD APS Programme and be responsible for provision of ongoing data requirements for HMT Reporting · Verification and consolidation of CBD APS data · Investigation of exceptions occurring within data sets · Consolidation of recoveries data for reporting purposes · Quality checking of data sourcing activities undertaken by other analysts Responsibilities · Assist in / contribute to provision of an up-to-date, accurate and complete datatape of APS assets · Completion of data sourcing activities for the provision of Quarterly Statement data, including the receipt, verification, calculation and consolidation of recoveries data · Investigation and verification of Asset Continuity data · Verification and quality assessment of team's data output, including spot checking and providing appropriate feedback · Support Analysts in their day to day role by acting as a point of reference- · Effective working partnership with CBD APS teams / line management · Ensuring APS operational responsibilities are undertaken effectively · Investigate Asset Continuity exceptions · Work with other divisions (LCB and GRG) to verify assets lists for those areas · Undertake analysis for Asset Protection Agency requests and perform any required remediation activity · Provide ad hoc data requirements to the CBD APS Reporting teams or Central APS teams as required · Assist in improvement projects and tasks for data sourcing and provision to ensure optimum accuracy of data · Collating information and producing reports · Undertake any one-off data sourcing, remediation and / or population activities The Individual · Previous experience in an Operational environment - Essential · Good working knowledge of Corporate Banking Division and its business/systems - Essential · Data Analysis skills - Essential · Risk and credit experience - Beneficial · Knowledge of the Asset Protection Scheme and the APS Scheme rules - Beneficial · Ability to build and maintain good working relationships at all levels - Essential · Experience of working across functional areas - Beneficial
