Job Description . The Business Manager is held accountable for delivery of the Pet product Divisional P&L, covering the following business areas: o Own Brands (Direct Line/Churchill) o. The role is responsible for bringing together a cross-regional direct and matrix team of functional experts to: o Ensure successful delivery of the P&L, mobilising resources as required to optimise performance, o Manage external/internal partner relationships o Identify and develop new product and partner opportunities o Investigate, analyse and problem-solve business issues and driving corrective action- . There is specific responsibility for: o Leading the development of the product to deliver alignment with the target market o Developing 3-year rolling strategic plans- Requirements . Previous P&L management experience essential o Knowledge of insurance accounting conventions (including loss ratios, reserving practise), budgeting, scenario modelling and developing business cases o Ability to take input from multiple sources (eg marketing, underwriting, pricing analysis and operations) to inform decision-making, particularly around pricing decisions (including rate & volume trade-offs and elasticity) . General management experience preferred o Working in a matrix management organisation, working with and leading others, analysing business problems and developing implementable solutions within short time frames, mobilising resources to address business problems . Direct-to-Consumer experience preferred o Insight into consumer and customer buying behaviour, ability to interpret customer requirements into product and service design, competitor knowledge . Proven track record of success . Qualified to degree standard, preferably with further professional qualifications .
