Job Description
Background

Finance has a great opportunity, full time and required immediately!

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the AXA Insurance Business Intelligence team. The Business Intelligence team provides Management Information from internal (AXA) and external (Market Intelligence) data sources to AXA Insurance users in the UK.

This opportunity will give you great exposure to a Business Intelligence function which is experiencing significant growth in its services and undergoing a rapid transformation of its operations. The role is based in Ipswich with occasional travel to other AXA locations in the UK.

You will work for Business Intelligence's Strategy and Customer Relationship Management team. This team works with AXA Insurance's internal customers to understand, design and implement the Management Information required to satisfy their needs. As Business Analyst you will play a key role throughout the delivery lifecycle including agreeing and communicating the functional and non-functional Business Requirements, compiling Test Conditions, providing support during User Acceptance Testing and assisting with Implementation.


    The role

    The Business Analyst objectives include:

    • Planning, organising and facilitating business requirements definition workshops and interviews.
    • Ensuring relevant stakeholders assess and agree the priority of all business requirements.
    • Communicate business requirements to IT and non-IT delivery teams.
    • Ensuring that solution designs satisfy the business requirements and that relevant stakeholders assess and agree any compromises.
    • Maintain up to date and high quality documentation.
    • Ensure test conditions for all business requirements are defined. Where appropriate define test data sets.
    • Support UAT execution & defect resolution.
    • Support implementation preparation and delivery including process definition and end user training.


      Skills, knowledge and behaviour

      Mandatory

      • It is essential you have proven experience working in a dedicated Business Analysis role. 
      • You must understand and be able to explain clearly the components of an Insurance company's P&L account.
      • You must be able to learn and assimilate information quickly from customers.
      • Experienced and effective in capturing and communicating business requirements clearly.
      • Understanding of project management processes and procedures.
      • Competent user of Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
      • Highly competent written & verbal communicator.
      • Self-reliant and able to work on own initiative to lead and manage workshops and interviews.
      • Effective manager of stakeholder relationships. Ability to work with senior management from across all parts of AXA Insurance.
      Highly Desirable
      • Experienced and effective in capturing and communicating business requirements clearly in the context of Management Information (Reporting).
      • Sound working knowledge of the General Insurance industry and how GI company's measure themselves.
      • Ability to use Workbench, Sharepoint tools

      Desirable

      • Previous experience working for AXA in the UK.
      • Recent experience working on initiatives using Business Objects reporting tools.
      • Recent experience working on initiatives using Kalido data warehousing tools.
