Job Description & Role Purpose This is an excellent opportunity to join the Risk Reporting and Analysis Services Team- The primary purpose of the role is to produce and develop reports to inform impairment decision-making for all Corporate Banking products- You will also get the opportunity to assist in the investigation and implementation of new and innovative provisioning methodologies- Role Purpose This is an excellent opportunity to join the Risk Reporting and Analysis Services Team- The primary purpose of the role is to produce and develop analysis to inform impairment decision-making for Corporate Banking products- You will also get the opportunity to assist in the investigation and implementation of new and innovative provisioning methodologies- This job is based either in Edinburgh or London to work alongside our Corporate Banking colleagues in both locations and it is a chance to join a rapidly expanding team that in itself will create an exciting and challenging opportunity- Requirements Skills/Experience Required at Entry - Ability to identify issues and trends from information & assisting in the delivery of solutions,
- Analytical, enquiring mind with a logical approach to problem-solving,
- Proven ability to plan and organise own workload to deliver in a challenging environment,
- Working well as part of a team, sharing ideas and demonstrating willingness to learn from others,
- Good verbal and written communication skills,
- Experience using SAS/SQL programming language preferable
- Experience in data-driven analysis
Skills/Experience Required for Excellence - Ability to run queries, create and use databases using standard PC packages,
- Handles multiple and varied tasks simultaneously in an organised manner, while still achieving milestones and meeting all targets,
- Uses knowledge of Technology based Corporate Banking systems to provide creative/innovative suggestions,
- Consistently looks beyond the accepted ways of doing things to provide effective and practical business solutions,
- Communicates work with customers in a way that maximises their participation/buy-in, resulting in strong feedback/support for Project/task delivery,
- Ability to represent Bank's Corporate Banking lending interests at internal/external meetings,
- Ability to present Corporate Banking lending issues/developments to branch/department staff
Major Activities & Responsibilities - I mpairment management, setting and monitoring loss rates, stress testing and forecasting, cash recovery target setting,
- D evelopment of segmentation tools to identify potential impairment savings
- D evelopment and implementation of efficiencies to provisioning processes and methodologies
- A d-hoc analyses e-g- support of government initiatives, monitoring collections and recoveries strategies-
Measures of Success Measures of Success - Acceptance of proposals/recommendations by Line Manager/Credit and other business areas,
- Accountable to key stakeholders for delivery of milestones to an agreed quality, time and cost
- Maintain and develop knowledge of methodologies and a professional network of contacts, sharing knowledge and best practice where appropriate to support continuous improvement-
