Job Description With a Property portfolio of over 5,000 properties world wide, Property Services are responsible for the procurement, operations and maintenance of all these properties- In order to deliver the wide range of services associated with such a diverse Portfolio, RBS employ a wide range of Property Professionals- An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Building Services Team that supports the Bank's most technically advanced sites- They employ leading-edge building management systems to ensure that the business runs efficiently, free from risk and interruption-As a Building Services Technician you will be based within n one of the four UK Data Centres and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the critical equipment within these centres- They carry out critical maintenance and repairs to support the business and to ensure the efficient operation of engineering plant and systems- They are part of a team that provides continuous shift cover for our critical centres- The role operates on a 3-shift system and requires participation in an on-call rota- Responsibilities The role will require you to operate and maintain the building services used to support the Bank's main Data Centre sites and will provide multi-skilled technical resource to ensure business continuity is maintained within the scope of the service level agreement- In addition you will be responsible for: immediate action in emergencies to reinstate failed systems; carrying out installation works as required to support the business and being part of a team that provides continuous shift cover to these critical centres- The Individual As a Building Services Technician you will have the following skills and experience:- - Extensive practical experience in the operation and maintenance of building services
- A good knowledge of electrical and mechanical & HVAC building services
- Experienced in maintaining and operating complex engineering systems
- Qualified to HNC level or equivalent or recognised time served trade
- The ability to be flexible to work on your own initiative or collaborate with colleagues
- Undertake investigation and research to provide innovation or indentify root cause analysis
- Willing to learn new skills and techniques associated with the operation and maintenance of complex systems-
