Operating to the highest professional standards, GIA is highly regarded for the timely challenge, insight and advice it delivers on key risk management issues- Our vision is to be a world class global audit function, that is universally respected and creates value for the RBS Group- We operate as trusted advisor to Group and external stakeholders, strive to meet the highest professional standards and aim to be a function that people are proud to work in- As part of the GIA team, our staff have an excellent opportunity to make value-added contributions to global businesses and functions across the RBS Group- It provides unique opportunities to view businesses and functions as a whole, to further enhance financial services and risk expertise and to develop high impact relationships with senior business management- We actively manage and encourage career progression and opportunities continuously arise for professional and personal development within the GIA team and beyond- About This Role As an Audit Partner, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of a high-quality, cost effective audit service delivery programme into RBS Insurance; including production of a quarterly audit plan, putting in place a team with the right experience to deliver it, and preparation of reports and analyses of audit work for the business- You'll de liver reliable audit opinions covering key processes to senior executives across the designated service area- Contribute significantly to the Opinion delivered to the Chief Executive of RBS Insurance and to the Group Opinion delivered to the Board- Responsibilities Your key reponsibilities will include:- - Build high impact relationships at senior executive levels across RBS Insurance and ensure that Audit supports the senior executives in achieving their objectives-
- Attend or represent the Head of Audit at executive management meetings and audit committees as required-
- Champion continuous improvement of risk management and control processes across RBS Insurance and the Group as opportunities arise-
- Be a 'centre of excellence' in the particular business area for the rest of the function, passing on experience and knowledge proactively for the benefit of whole department-
- Lead and develop the audit team, passing down day-to-day audit management to the senior audit managers and team leaders, and engaging the cluster co-ordinator to provide scheduling and operational support to the team-
Key Deliverables: - A quarterly opinion for the division (or a part thereof) which rigorously examines the underlying causes of audit issues and analyses the implications for the business- Opinions and advice as noted above subject to high standards of quality and within prescribed timescales-
- Monthly Control Reports and Audit Reports to key stakeholders that add real value to the business-
- An annual plan that reflects a fundamental understanding of the business and the current and future risks facing it and gives high levels of audit value for money-
- Stakeholder Satisfaction reviews and other feedback processes that reflect a high level of audit service, and that the business recognise the value that audit add-
- Leaders on audits within RBS Insurance who are managed to deliver 1) well defined Terms of Reference, 2) support for relevant audit Opinion(s), 3) business and staff expectations and, 4) high performing teams-
- Manage expectations of External Auditors on issues related to Operations-
