The Asset Distribution Team:

Working as part of the Corporate Banking Division's Treasury function within CB Finance, the Asset Distribution team has a responsibility for co-ordinating asset distribution (e-g- securitisation) across Corporate Banking Division (CBD)-

The team also has a key responsibility to drive forward the Group's Collateral Enablement Programme from a CBD perspective, including the delivery of individually significant transactions that support Group's capital and liquidity management objectives- The size of any individual transaction is likely to be several billion pounds and will have a high degree of visibility with the Executive and the wider RBS Group- The team also supports the individual Business Units in developing their ability to distribute both the existing and future asset bases, in line with their individual business and Group strategies-

The Role:

This is a wide-ranging role requiring a close involvement with both functional and business management across the Division, as well as colleagues in Group functions such as Group Treasury- The role combines regular monthly processes (transaction reporting, data manipulation, co-ordinating front line data validation exercises)  with project management work (e-g- driving IT improvements, delivering new deals), and will require the jobholder to work closely across CBD and the wider RBS Group-


    Requirements
    Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

    ·          Financial numeracy, logical, analytical and problem solving skills

    ·          Strong working knowledge of the relevant core banking platforms used by CBD, including RMP, ACBS (including Camelot)/ Loan IQ and Back Office (Caustic)

    ·          Well developed MS Excel and data manipulation skills

    ·          Preference for a numerate graduate with relevant banking experience   Supplementary Experience:   (Useful additional skills)  

    ·          Previous experience in CBD front line business or Risk function

    ·          Previous mix of experience in Capital and/or Treasury Management and a solid knowledge of bank structures, products and systems would be advantageous

    ·          Project Management and Business Analysis experience

    ·          Use of the Corporate Data Gathering (CDG) application

    ·          MS Access Experience


      Responsibilities

      ·          Manage CBD's reporting responsibilities for existing Group-driven distribution transactions- This includes efficient collation and manipulation of significant data sets, and timely and accurate delivery of the agreed reporting requirements

      ·          Own and manage the delivery of fit-for-purpose robust and efficient transaction management/ monitoring and data gathering/ validation platforms (e-g- CDG), including advising/ challenging on design, specification, content, performance and usability- This will involve close liaison with IT development and testing teams- Maintenance of supporting Help Function, User Guide, FAQs

      ·          Co-management of the CDG Help Desk and Email Inbox during any data gathering/ validation exercise

      ·          Develop a deep understanding of the various risk and reporting data source systems used to support existing and planned transactions

      ·          Work with parallel business or IT workstreams where the aim is to improve the quality or availability of credit risk data across the division

      ·          Undertake the data extraction, manipulation and analysis in preparation for any proposed distribution transactions - this will include data cleansing activities, quality control and sanity checking

      ·          Assist with the delivery of appropriate distribution solutions to ease the RWA, Sector Concentration and/ or Liquidity pressures

      ·          Understanding the Division's balance sheet, particularly the make-up of the loan book- Developing an understanding of the potential for distribution of particular asset classes; considering, and where appropriate driving changes to the business processes or IT systems to maximise distribution potential- Support the development and implementation of Divisional Asset Distribution policies and operational methodologies

      ·          Input and challenge on all aspects relating to the Asset Distribution responsibilities in any transaction

      ·          To ensure that identified CBD businesses are adequately prepared for upcoming asset distributions within their business, liaising across the business at all levels required
