Purpose of the Role

"To comply with European Commission State Aid requirements, RBS agreed to make a series of divestments to be completed within 4 years from December 2009-

We announced on 4 August that we have reached an agreement to sell to Santander the RBS branches in England and Wales and NatWest branches in Scotland as well as the personal and SME accounts attached to these branches, the Direct SME business and some mid corporate customers- The sale is expected to take 12-18 months to complete from signing on 4 August so this means that it will be business as usual for our customers and employees for the foreseeable future and so we are continuing to recruit for roles as usual- This role is in scope of the sale"
   
  • To act as support for the Director/Associate Director,   Structured Finance Portfolio Management (CSF Portfolio)
  • To ensure effective credit risk monitoring of retained assets via the CSF portfolio models
  • Assist in the preparation of credit submissions and credit stewardship procedures, including direct customer interface


    Responsibilities / Activities
    FINANCIAL - Delivering the results
    • Assist the Director / Associate Director in early identification of under performing assets
    • Assist the Director/Associate Director in identifying and converting opportunities to enhance the Bank's risk reward and generate incremental income from fees and additional lending as a result of corporate acquisitions, restructures, releveraging and covenant breaches-
    • Ensure timely receipt of ongoing annual monitoring fees-
    CUSTOMER - Delivering for customers through good relationship management
    • Act as point of contact for enquiries dealing with credit issues to ensure customer service is of highest standard
    • Maintain and Process documentation to ensure records all kept up to date and accurate
    • Will frequently accompany line manager on customer visits
    • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs within the corporate marketplace-
    • Assist the Director/Associate Director in tailoring customer solutions by utilising the full range of the Bank's products and expertise-
    • May hold a small portfolio of customers for development/training purposes
    INTERNAL EFFECTIVENESS - Managing the Bank and retaining the licence to operate
    • Ensure that all completed transactions receive a high level of analysis and control so that we understand any variance to the company business plan and ensure that agreed covenants levels are adhered to-
    • G ather and analyse financial and other information and prepare CSF monthly monitoring report on behalf of the Director/Associate Director CSF- Appropriate diary notes should be made to ensure timely receipt of specialist reports/ financial performance reports and condition subsequents

      • Proven risk assessment, monitoring and control skills-
      • Good knowledge of full range of Corporate products and funding solutions-
      • Good knowledge of credit processes-
      • Appreciation of macro-economic and financial outlook with developed understanding of corporate sector activity-
      • Experience of analysing financial information and identifying appropriate solutions-
      • Strong administration skills-
      • Strong communication skills both verbal and written in a clear and concise manner-
      • Strong computer skills and develop knowledge and application of financial modelling techniques-
