| Job Description |
Background The role is part of of the Life Accounting team based in Bristol, which ensures accurate accounting records are maintained, which enable the provision of accurate and timely information and other services for both internal and external customers of the Finance function, including management reporting, financial statements, regulatory returns and investigative project work. The role - To maintain a robust framework of internal controls to ensure that accounting records maintained are complete, accurate and reliable to allow the business to make informed decisions and take relevant action.
- T o manage the Non Unit Linked accounting process for AXA Sun Life plc under UKGAAP and IFRS .
- To manage the preparation and delivery of half year regulatory returns for the AXA Sun Life plc to ensure that the business is legally compliant .
- To manage the day to day relationship with counterparts in the AXA Business Services Financial Accounting team ( India ), monitoring and giving technical accounting advice on performance, resources and process efficiency, to ensure that results are accurate and timely.
- To provide financial analysis and explanatory commentary of actual result performance against prior periods on a monthly basis with respect to AXA Sun Life plc.
- To analyse the process and results and to suggest and implement improvements to production processes (in conjunction with the Finance Systems team) to increase efficiency.
- To define and provide Non Unit Linked related financial information, interpretation, analysis and support to customers, through expert knowledge and coaching, thereby enabling an improved understanding of the information provided.
- Manage the monthly asset allocation process, which is a complex process to maintain sub-fund balances. This involves monthly co-ordination with actuaries, ABS , tax and the investment teams.
- Involvement in relevant projects as the senior ASL accountant expert to advise and guide, enabling the project to remain on budget and timelines.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour - Qualified Accountant or equivalent with commercial experience.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated and controls-orientated environment is essential and any Life accounting is advantageous.
- Ability to meet crucial and demanding deadlines.
