Job Description Actuarial Analyst, Bromley If you love getting to the heart of a problem, we'd love to put you at the heart of our Insurance Division, and have you work with some of the biggest names on the market- RBS Insurance, employing thousands of people in five countries, are currently the UK 's second largest insurance provider, with a growing customer base in Italy and Germany - Our portfolio includes some of the best known brands in the business, among them Direct Line, Green Flag, Churchill, NIG and Privilege- Peers and competitors admire our can do attitude and our talent for transforming smart ideas into industry shaping innovations- Working with some of the biggest names in insurance, you'll support your line manager and t he Corporate Actuarial senior management team in providing a consistent, timely and comprehensive reserving, forecasting, monitoring and capital analysis service to the RBS Insurance Division- Responsibilities To assist with the implementation of new processes, systems, methodologies for the calculation of technical provisions under Solvency II, alongside existing and/or new methodologies to support existing and future accounting requirements- Work with external actuaries to develop a prototype solution for Technical Provisions of Solvency II and assist with the gap analysis of the 12 CEIOPS papers on Technical Provisions, a project plan to close the gaps in terms of data, systems and processes- But that's not all you'll improve- Seeking out new skills and actively learning from your team members you'll always be developing - while sharing your own knowledge and experience with others to see that everyone in our Division learns and grows together- Key Contacts Internal Business Management BAU Reserving Team Solvency II Project Team Finance Risk Underwriting, Pricing and Innovation Claims Department Support and other Central Functions, (HR, IT,) Strategy and Projects Internal Auditors External Actuaries Auditors Financial Services Authority Reinsurance brokers Reinsurance companies The Individual Whilst we recruit and value skills in underwriting and claims handling, these positions require pure technical analysis skills and a minim um of 1 years insurance non-lfe reserving or capital modelling or relevant analytical experience is desirable (or similar experience using analytical and statistical techniques to make commercial decisions) You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in mathematics or a related degree- In addition we are looking for: Excellent analytical skills- Innovative thinking: ability to see problems from different angles in order to find solutions-
