As part of AXA's General Insurance Actuarial team you will play a key role in providing technical support (pricing, reserving and performance monitoring) and advice in respect of insurance risk for AXA Insurance Personal Lines. You will be part of a well respected team that has real influence over the business. To be successful in this role, you are likely to be a part qualified actuary who has already completed some of the core actuarial exams (e.g. CT1). Alternatively, you will have a strong background in statistical/mathematical analysis and experience of working with pricing tools such as Emblem. You will also have experience of working with SAS and/or VBA. The role You will provide technical support and use actuarial judgement to derive adequate level of technical reserves and assess the current year loss ratios for relevant Personal Lines. In conjunction with stakeholders, you will estimate current and future years' loss ratio You will advise SBUs on premium rate structures You will support the assessment of product profitability and the performance of the relevant Personal Lines. You will use your actuarial skills and judgement to support and challenge the strategy in respect of the relevant Personal Lines to add value and ensure decisions are soundly based. You will support the Head of Actuarial Team in respect of SOx (Sarbanes Oxley), ensure that key controls mitigate risks identified, including fraud and financial mis-statement, and that documentation is kept up to date and complete for SOx purposes Skills, knowledge and behaviour Typically a successful candidate will have completed Core Technical exams and be will making good progress towards qualification. Alternatively you will have a financial/actuarial/general insurance professional qualification or demonstrating equivalent technical expertise and insurance knowledge to fulfil key accountabilities for the role. You will be able to demonstrate effective communications, influencing and strong relationship building skills - both within and outside Finance and Actuarial, and at all levels. You will have the ability to grasp the significance and meaning of a range of technical and complex issues. Coupled with strong financial analysis and modelling skills. You will have advanced level knowledge of Word, Excel, Visual Basic, SAS and other actuarial tools. You will also have the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines whilst maintaining reliability and accuracy. What will you get from this role?
